How to send a request we can quote fast

Last reviewed 31 Oct 2026

Most delays in quoting come from one missing detail. A request with the six things below usually gets a firm quotation within two working days.

1. Identify each item exactly

The best identifier is a manufacturer part number. Failing that, give the brand and model, a link to a product page, or a photo of the item and its label. For cables and connectors, state the connector type at each end, the length and any rating you need.

2. Give quantities and units

Say "20 pieces" or "2 boxes of 100", not just "some". If the quantity might change, give a range. Price per unit can drop at higher quantities.

3. Say when you need it

A needed-by date tells us whether sea freight is fine or the order needs a faster route. Faster routes cost more, so a realistic date keeps the price down.

4. Tell us if an equivalent is acceptable

"Brand X only" and "brand X or equivalent" lead to very different quotes. If an equivalent is acceptable, tell us which specifications must match. We mark any equivalent clearly on the quotation, so you approve it before ordering.

5. Mention any documents you need

If your team needs datasheets, a certificate of conformance, a calibration certificate for new equipment, or the Safety Mark on an electrical item, say so up front. It can change which supplier we use.

6. Give the delivery and billing details

Tell us the delivery address, a contact person, and the company name that will appear on the PO. It saves a round of emails later.

What not to send

Please don't send classified, export-controlled or confidential technical data through our website form. If an item needs drawings or specifications, describe it in the form and we'll arrange a suitable way to receive them.
